It’s been both entertaining and rather curious to observe so many grown adults, some of them who should know better, get so bent out of shape over Lady Gaga’s monumental success. And they get so angry that some of us seriously believe we do “get it” when it comes to the Gaga … and actually like it. One rock critic went so far as to suggest that she is the very worst thing in all of modern culture … which is absolutely ridiculous in a culture that’s given us both the Kardashians and Donald Trump.
Three days before this wonderful high concept video was supposed to be filmed, Gaga performed The Edge of Glory on American Idol. To say the choreography wasn’t even close to being finished is an understatement. Except for the pas de deux between Gaga and Mark, there was virtually no choreography at all. Three days later, she’s supposed to make a high end high concept video with trash choreography not even finished yet? Yeah right. I suspect that Gaga wanted to make significant changes to cover up the fact that Gibson’s choreography was NOT ready for prime time (go watch the American Idol performance and you’ll see what I mean…that’s not something that could be fixed in 3 days), and Kahn didn’t want to go along with them. So she made a pure music video for the first time in her career because that’s what she could pull off in the 24 hours she had to create *something*. And it’s a far better video for that particular song than a mermaid movie. Whoever thought a surgically altered mermaid story was appropriate for a song that is about being on the edge of transformational glory should be shot with a vaginally birthed AK-47. (MTV news comments) I’m so glad no fucking mermaids happened in the end. Yay for simple!

I have a vision: an evening long show of GaGa AND Johnny Weir. This needs to happen & then go on DVD! :o)
They’d be both all dressed up, she on the piano perched on ice, he doing his stuff all around her. Needs. To. Happen.
